How many military jet types have we flown
with is 16 seasons? Name it, we have done it.
In Europe, not even a handful of aircraft remain on the wish list…
For a long time we thought that some of the most exotic jets were out
of reach for us. At the top of the target list, the Serbian J-22 Orao!
Until our crewmember Santi got the ball rolling and the communication
with the Serbian Air Force started. With the help of Marko, an active
J-22 pilot, we made the official request, and still much to our surprise
our longtime wish to fly with the Orao was granted! Now we had something
special to look forward to.
Once we announced the project to the world, it took like 30 minutes
to fill up the Skyvan photoship, and it still sounded too good to be true.
We also got in contact with Vladimir from Prince Aviation, who turned
out to be a brilliant coordinator and even better host. Thé biggest
surprise of this project was how welcoming, friendly and helpful all our
new Serbian friends were. Absolutely amazing! |

On the first day of the project we flew out to Kraljevo, the
actual homebase of the J-22. We were greeted by de Base Commander and his
entire team, what a welcome! After the detailed briefing we took the Skyvan
to the skies to see another dream coming true, and oh yes, we were joined
by not one but two of the Oraos. Not just the single seaters, but the even
rarer two-seat trainers. An absolute dream coming true, what and epic day.
But… we were not finished for the day, as Vladimir organized also
some surprises for us. |

| After refueling in Belgrade we took off again
to meet the G2 Galeb aerobatic team… and so we could add another jet
type to our super long list of types. Fantastic flying, an ultra-low flyby
over ‘Galeb Town’ and landing at their home airfield were an
awesome late lunch awaited all the photographers. Hospitality, Serbian style!
Still the day was not over, as we also had a sunset flight with two jets
of Prince Aviation, one of the Cessna CJ series and the French Falcon. Having
the chance to see two business jets fly together was for sure another highlight. |

Now the second day was reserved to fly with more Bizzjets
from our new friends at Prince Aviation, and we all heard the rumours and
ideas… could it be, would it be, maybe, maybe not…? But the
answer was YES!!! Another true icon of the skies would join us behind the
Skyvan photoship, and there it was, tack sharp on time, the Serbian Air
Force Mig-29! |

 |
 |
 |
 |
 |
 |
 |
The Mig-29 has always been a firm favorite
among aviation photographers, and we have been lucky to fly a number of
times with the Slovakian and especially Polish Migs, but the chance to
see an active jet from the Serbian Air Force was yet another dream coming
true. The Mig-29 performed a jet intercept for us, plus an unusual lead
change resulting in equally unique photos. |

And to conclude these magical flights, another
two business jets from Prince Aviation joined us for a fantastic photo
and video join-up. Serbia turned out to be a dream destination –
I forgot to mention the lavish dinners – not only for the touristic
highlights, but what they all have flying there… it was the big
discovery and surprise of the 2025 season!
Yes, of course we already planned a new Serbian adventure in our 2026
schedule! |
